Gomez began her acting career on the popular children's TV show Barney & Friends (2002-2004). She rose to fame as Alex Russo, a teenage actor in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films which include Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Princess Protection Program (2009). She was also featured in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). A Rainy Day in New York (2018). The production company she runs, July Moon Productions, also produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (2018). She also appeared in the Hulu comedy series that is a mystery Only Murders in the Building (2020-present), and the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (20-2020).
