 Keanu Charles Reeves (/ki'a:nu:/ kee-AH-noo;[4][5][6] born on the 2nd of September, 1964) is a Canadian actor. Reeves was born in Beirut and grew up in Toronto. He began his acting career in theatre productions, before transitioning to television. His first feature film was in Youngblood (1986). Reeves's first big role came in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989), which he reprised for its sequels. He gained praise for playing a hustler in the drama of an independent production My Own Private Idaho (1991) and established himself as an action-hero through prominent parts in Point Break (1991) and Speed (1994).Following several box-office failures, Reeves's role in the film of horror The Devil's Advocate (1997) was highly praised. More fame came from his role as Neo in the science-fiction series The Matrix, beginning in 1999. He played John Constantine in Constantine (2006) and The Lake House (2006). He was also in The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).
