Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@n/ was born 28 November 1987, and is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. She was recognized for her work on British film and television especially for her role as Amy Pond, a primary character in the Eleventh Doctor in the science fiction series Doctor Who (2010-2013), where she won numerous awards and nominations. Jane Lockhart and Ally were her first film roles as part of the romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending (2013). In Britain she also performed on stage, first performing in John Osborne's show Inadmissible Evidence (2011) and later making her Broadway debut in Time to Act (2013). She was the first American actress to be the main character in Oculus (2013), which was her first commercial success. Then, she was the lead character in Selfie (2014).
