Sanaa Lathan

 Sanaa McCoy Lathan (born September 19, 1971) is an American actress. She is the daughter of actress Eleanor McCoy and film director Stan Lathan. Her acting career began when she was featured in the television shows In the House, Family Matters, NYPD Blue, and Moesha. After appearing on the series In the House Family Matters, In the House and NYPD Blue, as well as Moesha Lathan gained further fame. She was also featured in the 1998 film about superheroes, Blade. Lathan then went into film roles for Love & Basketball (2000) and Brown Sugar (2002). Lathan's Broadway performance in A Raisin in the Sun brought her an award nomination at the Tony Awards as Best Featured Actress in the Musical. After this performance, Lathan was cast as Alexa "Lex” Woods in the film Alien vs. Predator. In 2008, she was offered an important role in the film The Family That Preys by Tyler Perry. Lathan returned to the stage in 2010, when she appeared in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, an all-black production at the Novello Theatre. She also reprised her role as Robyn in The Best Man Holiday (2013) the Christmas-themed sequel to The Best Man.
