Matt Brown

Matthew Burton Brown, born January 10, 1981 is an American mixed martial artist who fights in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Brown has been a professional wrestler since 2004, was a contestant during the seventh season on The Ultimate Fighter television series. Brown is the holder of the record for highest number of UFC Welterweight knockouts. Brown was born in Jamestown. After being home-schooled for two years, Brown went to Greeneview High School where he struggled to make friends. Brown was born into a tiny community without any hope of his career. Brown worked as an machinist in a small factory. Brown was addicted to methamphetamine and frequently drank cocaine and frequently got into fights at events. By his early twenties Brown had survived a heroin overdose (which earned him the nickname "The Immortal"), had been homeless and had been to prison. Brown's fascination with MMA started with drunkenly practicing various submission holds that Brown had seen on VHS tapes featuring Ken Shamrock on friends.
