Mark Johnson

 Mark Johnson (born December 27, 1945) is an American film and television producer. Johnson received the Best Picture Academy Award for producing the 1988 drama film Rain Man, starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. The film received four Oscars and was nominated for the Golden Globe. Johnson first entered show business in 1965 as an actor for the Spanish "Spaghetti Western", Brandy. In Spain where he spent the first 10 years of his youth. He worked as an extra in films like Nicholas and Alexandra by Franklin Schaffner and Dr. Zhivago by David Lean. His early experiences led to small acting roles in the European western Ride and Kill and the 1964 drama The Thin Red Line. He graduated with an undergraduate degree from Virginia in Drama and an MA from the University of Iowa in Film Scholarship.
