Lauren Holly (born October 28 in 1963) is an American actress. She has played the role of Deputy Sheriff Maxine Stewart in the tv show Picket Fences. She also played NCIS Director Jenny Shepard in the series NCIS and Dr. Betty Rogers on Motive, Mary Swanson in Dumb and Dumber, Bruce Lee's wife Linda Lee in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Darian Smalls in Beautiful Girls, and Gigi in What Women Want.Holly's acting career began in the early 20s, when she starred as Carla Walicki in two episodes of Hill Street Blues. At the age of 23, she was chosen to play Julie Rand Chandler in ABC's soap drama All My Children (1986-1989). She played the comic book character Betty Cooper in the TV film Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again in 1990.In 1992 Holly's breakthrough came when she was cast as the small-town Sheriff Maxine Stewart alongside veteran film actor Tom Skerritt on CBS's Picket Fences for four seasons. She was in every episode with the exception of one. In the 1993 episode of Dragon the actress played Linda Lee Cadwell (the wife of Bruce Lee, a martial artist and actor).
