Christina Renee Hendricks (born May 3 1975) is an American actress and former model. She has had a long career on screen and stage and has won numerous awards, including six Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. The critics also awarded her two Critics' Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She is most likely best known for her role as Joan Harris in the critically well-received AMC drama series Mad Men. She was named as the "sexiest woman in America" by Esquire magazine in the year 2010. Her parents were an American mother in Knoxville, Tennessee and an English father from Twin Falls, Idaho. She was involved in theatre and was also involved in community theater. After her Seventeen cover contest entry, she moved to New York City to pursue modeling careers. After being a model throughout the world for more than 10 years, she shifted into acting.
