Benjamin Geza Affleck, born August 15 1972 is an American actor. His achievements include two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and a Volpi Cup, the principal award for actors during the Venice Film Festival. As a youngster actor, he was a part of the PBS educational series The Voyage of the Mimi (1984-1988). Then, he was a part of the independent comedy Dazed & Confused (1993), and numerous Kevin Smith films including Mallrats (1995), Chasing Amy (1997) and Dogma (1999). Affleck received more attention when he and his childhood pal Matt Damon won the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for writing Good Will Hunting (1997) in which they also appeared in. Affleck became a prominent actor in films of the studio such as the war drama Pearl Harbor (2001), the disaster film Armageddon (1998) and the war drama Pearl Harbor (192001). He also played a role in Good Will Hunting (1997).
