She is an American martial artist and fighter that competes in the UFC. Miesha Tate was the former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight champion. Tate also won the silver medal at the FILA Grappling Championships. Tate was born in Tacoma in Washington in 1986, wrestled for the high school boys' team. She won the state championship in 2005. was awarded the state high school girls' championship, and then went into winning the national championship at the World Team Trials. In high school, Tate attended Central Washington University in Washington, where one of her rivals, Rosalia Watson pushed her to join the mixed martial arts team. After a short time, Tate formally joined the mixed martial arts sports club of Central Washington University. Tate officially joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship in February 2013. Tate's double leg takesdowns are famous. They are usually performed through pressing an opponent against the cage and then picking the opponent up. The media has described her ground game as dominant and powerful, stating that she's often overpowered when she puts her down. Alongside her accomplishments in the sport of UFC fighter, Tate has been featured in the Fight Life, a martial arts document. Tate was a naked model in the ESPN Body Issue.
