Thomas Stanley Holland (born 1 June 1996) is an English actor from England. His awards include a British Academy Film Award, three Saturn Awards, a Guinness World Record and an appearance on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list. Some publications have deemed Holland one of the most popular actors of his generation.Holland's acting career began at nine, when he joined the dance class. It was there that an instructor noticed him and arranged for him to audition for a part in Billy Elliot the Musical at London's Victoria Palace Theatre. After two years of intensive training the actor was offered a support part in 2008 and was upgraded to the title role in the same year. He remained on the stage until 2010. Holland made his debut in film in the drama The Impossible (2012) as teenagers trapped in a tsunami, for which the actor was awarded a London Film Critics Circle Award for Young British Actor of the Year. Holland made acting his full-time career after appearing in the film the movie How I Live Now (2013), as well as playing historical characters in the films In the Heart of the Sea (2015), as well as Wolf Hall (2015).
