Martha Higareda

 Higareda was the daughter of Jose Luis Higareda and actress Miriam Higareda. She was born in Villahermosa Tabasco, Mexico. The acting profession was her first passion, and she also began dancing tap, flamenco, tap, and folklore at an early age. At the age of 14, she moved to Mexico City from her native Tabasco to pursue a career in acting. She began her career on stage performing in plays like "Little Women" or "Don Juan." "Being an advanced student she entered College several years early at the age of fifteen; studying Communication at El Tecnologico de Monterrey. She would attend college in the mornings , while going to acting school in the evenings, and then performing in theater on the weekends. In the year following, her sister and mother moved to Mexico City and attended acting school together with her. Martha made her first TV debut as an anchor hostess for the Disney Channel's Zapping Zone.Alfonso Cuaron came to Mexico City auditioning for Y Tu Mama Tambien, Martha was chosen to play Cecilia Huerta, Gael Garcia's lover in the film however, due to her age and to the nakedness in the movie she wasn't able to do the role.
