John Christopher Depp II (born on June 9, 1963) is an American actor and musician from the United States. Depp has won multiple accolades which include an Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with nominations for three Academy Awards and two BAFTA awards.Depp made his debut as a feature film actor in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and also appeared in Platoon (1986), before getting noticed as an idol for teens in the TV series 21 Jump Street (1987-1990). Depp was mostly an actor in independent films, usually with eccentric directors, during the 1990s. They include Cry-Baby (1990), What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Benny and Joon (1993), Dead Man (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). Depp began a long-term relationship with Tim Burton. He played the leading parts in the film Edward Scissorhands (1990), Ed Wood (944) and Sleepy Hollow (99).
