James Hetfield

 American musician James Alan Hetfield was born on August 3 of 1963. He is the lead singer of Metallica, a rhythm guitarist, co-founder and the main songwriter of Metallica's heavy metal band. He is most well-known for his intricate rhythm playing but he also occasionally performs lead guitar duties and solos live as well as in the studio. Hetfield was the co-founder of Metallica in October of 1981 following an advertisement put out by drummer Lars Ulrich in the Los Angeles newspaper The Recycler. Metallica won nine Grammy Awards, and has released ten studio albums, three extended plays, as well as 24 singles. Hetfield was ranked No. Joel McIver's book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists ranks Hetfield at the No. 8. Hit Parader's list of the 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists Of All Time comprised 24. Guitar World's survey ranked Hetfield as the 19th most influential guitarist of all time. He also placed in the second spot (alongside Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett) in the 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists poll. Rolling Stone placed him as the 87th most famous guitarist of all time.
