James Hetfield

 American musician James Alan Hetfield was born August 3 in 1963. He is the lead vocalist of Metallica, a rhythm guitarist, co-founder, and the primary songwriter for the metal band Metallica. He is most well-known for his intricate rhythm playing, however, he also performs lead guitar duties and solos, both live as well as in the studio. Hetfield was the co-founder of Metallica in the month of October, 1981 following an advertisement put out by drummer Lars Ulrich in the Los Angeles newspaper The Recycler. Metallica has won nine Grammy Awards and released ten studio albums and three live albums. They also released four extended plays and 24 singles.In 2009, Hetfield was ranked at the No. Joel McIver's book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists places Hetfield at the number. 8. Hit Parader ranked 24 on their 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists List. In Guitar World's poll, he has two older half-brothers from his mother's first marriage and one younger sister. Hetfield was just 13 years old when his parents split. They were strict Christian Scientists.
