Carrie Marie Underwood, born on March 10, 1983, is an American country singer. After winning the fourth season of American Idol 2005, she became famous. The first country singer to debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and the only solo country artist who reached the number one spot on the Hot 100 in 2000s. The album she released her debut album, Some Hearts (2005), was bolstered by the successful crossover singles "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats", making it the top-selling female solo debut album in country music history. She received three Grammy Awards for the album and also won Best New Artist. The following studio album, Carnival Ride (2007) had one of the biggest opening weeks ever for a female artist. It also was awarded two Grammy Awards. The third studio album she released entitled Play On (2009), was preceded by the single "Cowboy Casanova" and was one of the most significant single-week upward movements in the Hot 100.She was the second highest-selling release by a woman in 2012 and was awarded the Grammy Award with her fourth album, Blown Away (2012).
